Community Services of Missouri is one of the largest private organizations in the state of Missouri, offering a range of programs across the state of Missouri. From their network of offices, CSM offers an outpatient substance abuse treatment program as well as an alcohol and drug education program, driver improvement program, a financial management and shoplifting class, probation supervision, anger management, drug testing, a compulsive gambling program and more.
Treatment and Staff
Although the substance abuse treatment program at CSM is exclusively outpatient, the individualized treatment plans tailored for each client focus on raising self-esteem and lead to high success rates of recovery.
Treatment begins with an initial assessment/evaluation to determine a treatment plan and which counselor on the CSM staff is the best fit. From there, the client schedules individual therapy with their counselor as well as family therapy that focuses on forming happy, healthy and functioning relationships. Clients also participate in group therapy where topics include time management, drug and alcohol education, anger and stress management, grief and loss, conflict resolution, life skills, relapse prevention, chemical dependency, guilt and shame, process group and self-esteem. The 12-steps are not integrated into the program, but attendance of AA/NA meetings is strongly encouraged.
The staff at CSM consists of LCSWs, LPCs, MSWs and LMFTs.
Extras
CSM is primarily a private court service, so clients can benefit from more than substance abuse treatment. Additional services include GPS house arrest services, defensive driving services, drug testing, probation services, shoplifting and financial management program and DOT assessments.
