Community Rehab is a modern, boutique residential treatment center geared toward young adults in a quiet residential neighborhood in Orange, California. This Southern California facility emphasizes the importance of community and mutual respect between staff and residents.
Community Rehab offers detox services, intervention and sober living arrangements for young adults looking to recover from addiction and substance abuse. Clients are taught how to live a sober life that is “cool, active and fulfilling.”
Accommodations and Food
Community Rehab accommodates clients in two connected cobalt-blue bungalows. The attractive front house with a covered porch and brick steps and walkway is where therapy sessions and meetings are conducted and communal meals are shared.
The houses accommodate nine men and women in five gender-specific double-occupancy bedrooms—three in the front house, and two in the back. Bathrooms are also shared and divided by gender. Twin beds are available with linens provided, and there is an on-site laundry room—detergent is also provided.
All meals are prepared by a cooking staff and can be enjoyed privately in the client’s bedroom or in the common dining room. Most meals are traditional comfort food but special diet restrictions and allergies are accommodated. Snacks are available for clients at their leisure. Caffeine and sugar are allowed and clients may smoke in designated areas.
Cell phones and computers are allowed as long as residents maintain their focus on their sobriety. Residents are permitted to bring their animals as long as they are approved by management and are up to date on all vaccinations. Snacks are available for clients at their leisure. All Community Rehab requires of their residents is that they bring clothing appropriate for the weather and treat the staff, the house and other residents with respect at all times.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to admission, clients are psychologically assessed by an intake professional who reviews the individual’s history and current physical state to create an individualized treatment plan. If a client requires detox, they are admitted to the on-site program for, on average, a three-to-five day supervised process with a team of doctors and psychiatrists. Medication-assisted treatment with Suboxone is available.
Clients and their case managers decide on whether a 30-, 60- or 90-day commitment to inpatient treatment is appropriate and discuss the option of Community Rehab or other sober living arrangements after discharge from the residential track.
Community Rehab offers three treatment options—intensive daily individual therapy (up to two sessions a day), daily group sessions and relapse prevention. All therapy is conducted by staff MFTs or the staff psychologist. Therapists work with clients to build confidence and heal from their past experiences. Group sessions encourage clients to build social skills and interpersonal relationships while addressing recovery-related topics using psychoeducation. All therapists use an eclectic mix of therapies including CBT and the 12 steps.
Community Rehab encourages diversity, self-expression and individuality. Cell phones and laptops are permitted, allowing clients to stay connected during treatment.
Community Rehab arranges outside activities with staff escorts including beach outings, movies, sports games and concerts.
In addition to the comprehensive treatment program, the organization assists families with intervention services conducted by professional interventionists.
Community Rehab residents are encouraged to be fully engaged in their recovery process with therapists and case managers. Clients benefit from an integrated program where they can safely detox and then enroll in residential treatment and sober living on the same home-like campus. The intimate accommodations geared toward young adults in recovery encourage fellowship and community. None of this detracts from a serious program that incorporates evidence-based therapies and the 12 steps, making Community Rehab ideal for young men and women who are committed to sobriety and want a relaxed and compassionate atmosphere in which to recover.
