Located in the Los Angeles County suburb of Santa Clarita, Common Bond Rehab (CBR) is a substance and alcohol abuse treatment facility that incorporates evidence-based methods into a multi-phase recovery plan. To support early sobriety, participants may choose to live in one of CBR’s affiliated sober living homes where they will find a supportive and structured environment with fellow peers in recovery.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to enrollment in treatment, CBR offers a free assessment that allows individuals to meet the staff and discuss their concerns for themselves or the needs of a family member. Clients requiring detox are referred to a trusted facility.
CBR staff employ a six-step program to guide participants in overcoming addiction. Clients first must display a commitment to quitting, then choose a treatment plan. The third step is to enroll in an outpatient drug addiction treatment program, then they must opt to live in a sober house. The last two steps encourage the participant to involve themselves in support groups and then lay out a plan to live a sober life.
Individual sessions are generally scheduled once a week and group counseling typically meets three to five times a week for three to six hour sessions. Staff are flexible and work around clients’ schedules and the groups meet in both mornings and evenings.
Counselors utilize CBT and treatment emphasizes withdrawal management, addiction as a genetic disorder, co-occurring psychological disorders and relapse prevention. Specialized groups also address marriage and family, conflict resolution and anger management, trauma, PTSD and grief and loss.
Clients can also be referred to sober living homes and have access to an associate Physician for evaluations, medication management and case management. The 12-step framework is not incorporated into treatment, but clients are introduced to the recovery concepts and given referrals to community meetings upon request. Additionally, dual diagnosis support is available for those struggling with co-occurring disorders is provided.
