Coastline Behavioral Health is a treatment facility that provides outpatient services for men and women struggling with alcohol and substance use disorders as well as some co-occurring disorders including anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression and trauma. With two locations in the beautiful beachside cities of Newport Beach and Huntington Beach, California, this Joint-Commission accredited facility provides gender-specific, comprehensive Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and outpatient programming, as well as several upscale sober living facilities in Orange County. While Coastline offers a experiential approach to recovery, it also facilitates a host of traditional and complementary therapies, in addition to 12-step and medication management.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients undergo an extensive evaluation with an intake team comprised of a case manager, therapist and physician. Based on this assessment, a personalized treatment plan is developed to meet the individual’s specific needs. Clients typically transition into PHP after completing an inpatient program. PHP runs five days a week for six hours a day. While the length of care always varies depending on the client’s needs and goals, the IOP typically lasts between 12 and 16 weeks. Stepping down from PHP, clients in IOP have much more free time and are in therapy between two and four hours a day, three to five days a week. It is ideal for clients that need to continue working or attending school.
Coastline employs a bio-psycho-social approach to care that incorporates an array of therapeutic methods into the framework of an experiential program. The facility offers medication management, holistic methods, the 12-step recovery model, evidence-based models and cutting edge techniques. IOP clients engage individual, group and family therapy with therapists trained in CBT and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) as well as biofeedback to bring a greater understanding of the mind’s responses to stressful triggers. Coastline also provides regular testing for substance use and psychoeducation coursework based on the facility’s disease model of addiction.
Coastline’s multidimensional team is comprised of counselors, therapists, clinicians, case and managers. Medication management is available for clients in need of dual diagnosis support.
Health and wellness plays an integral role in the programming. As such, clients are encouraged to participate in a variety of holistic practices such as yoga, meditation, hypnotherapy, massage therapy, Tai chi and music therapy. Also, for individuals seeking a spiritual program, Coastline offers a Christian track that includes Bible study, journaling and group sessions.
While Coastline provides luxury rehab facilities in Newport Beach and Huntington Beach, there are also several sober living houses in Orange County. These houses provide around-the-clock supervision and amenities like WiFi and transportation to and from the treatment facility. For clients that complete the program, sober living is available at a reduced rate.
