Acadia: Coastal Recovery Comprehensive Treatment Center of Wilmington Review
Located in Wilmington, California near Long Beach, Coastal Recovery Comprehensive Treatment Center of Wilmington is one of two clinics owned and operated by Southern California Comprehensive Treatment Centers (which is part of Acadia Healthcare), the other based out of Santa Ana. Treatment and Staff

In order to participate, all clients must be 18 years or older, opioid-dependent for a year or more and actively in withdrawal for at least 20 to 24 hours (though exceptions are available for pregnant women). Though more intensive detox and stabilization is not available, all programs offered as essentially ambulatory detox for opioids with therapy.
Once accepted, clients can begin attending dosing sessions according to a flexible schedule that fits their needs. Eligible participants are welcome to attend between 5 am and 1:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, from 5 to 11:30 am on Thursday or from 6 to 9 am on Saturday and Sunday. Depending on their specific issues, either Subutex, Suboxone or methadone may be prescribed. In addition to these MAT dosing sessions, all clients also attend group and individual therapy with evidence-based treatment practices including CBT and DBT, though specific modalities may vary by counselor. Groups cover many topics including self-esteem, goal-setting, coping skills, trauma-informed care, trigger identification and relapse prevention. Though basic support for anxiety of depression is offered, more intensive dual diagnosis support is not available. While not strictly required, 12-step participation is strongly encouraged.
The staff at Coastal Recovery Comprehensive Treatment Center of Wilmington consists of consulting physicians, nurses and Master’s-level, state-certified addiction counselors.

Once participants finish a program at either location, basic case management services are available to help clients find affordable housing and jobs whenever necessary.
