Located approximately 10 miles north of downtown Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Valley Village, Clinic BetterLife is an outpatient treatment facility that specializes in the use of hypnosis. Care is available for clients struggling with a range of conditions including anxiety, panic attacks and insomnia, as well as substance use, eating and gambling disorders. Clinic BetterLife was originally founded in 2004 by Zanne Bech, a therapist and clinical hypnotherapist, in Denmark, where several Clinic BetterLife locations still remain.
Treatment and Staff
Clinic BetterLife provides outpatient care for men and women that are willing to take responsibility for their own recovery. For individuals in need of a detox or residential program, the team can make referrals to partner facilities in California. Programming implements hypnotherapy for the treatment of a multitude of issues including the alleviation of stress from major life events, smoking cessation, phobias, anger management, weight loss and insomnia and, as previously mentioned, addiction. Treatment is even offered to individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment. In addition, hypnotherapy is utilized for improved memory, enhanced energy, increased self esteem and better performance and creativity. Other beneficial uses are help coping with grief, marriage and family problems.
The cornerstone program at Clinic BetterLife is the “4 Steps and Hypnosis” aftercare program that provides six weeks of outpatient hypnotherapy treatment followed by six months of individualized care, all performed by Zanne Bech. During the outpatient program, clients receive individual hypnotherapy sessions as well as counseling. Clients begin treatment with an interview to help the staff determine the client’s needs and desires. From there, a professional hypnotherapist works directly with the client’s subconscious to affect positive change with thoughts, emotions and behaviors. When clients are amenable, hypnotherapy can be a faster method that reveals and removes negative emotions. Hypnotherapy sessions typically last an hour.
Clinic BetterLife is run by clinical hypnotherapist Zanne Bech. Bech is also the founder of the Egeborg substance use facility in Denmark that includes both residential and sober living housing. She has over 35 years of experience in the field as an addiction specialist, certified hypnotist and family counselor. Bech cannot provide medication management for clients with co-occurring disorders.
