CleanSlate Centers of Indiana Overview
CleanSlate offers Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) at 14 locations throughout Indiana. Its resources are available to men and women struggling with alcohol and substance use disorders—primarily opioids like Vicodin, Oxycontin, fentanyl and heroin. CleanSlate understands that addiction is a chronic brain disease and utilizes a comprehensive bio-psycho-social treatment curriculum. Programming implements evidence-based individual and group therapy as well as psychoeducation. The organization collaborates with partners in the community to help clients transition smoothly back into regular life.
Treatment and Staff
The CleanSlate services are available to clients through appointments and walk-in. During intake, individuals undergo a comprehensive evaluation that includes a complete medical history and account of substance abuse. The assessment helps determine the best possible personalized treatment strategy and customize it to address the unique needs of the individual.
CleanSlate specializes in MAT. The buprenorphine medication knowns as Suboxone is used to simultaneously satisfy the client’s need for an opioid and suppress painful withdrawal symptoms and cravings. In addition, the facility utilizes Vivitrol as a monthly injection to help prevent relapse by blocking opioid receptors. They use Vivitrol specifically for clients leaving detox to allow them to focus on other therapies, like counseling.
While Suboxone and Vivitrol are major components of the treatment curriculum, CleanSlate also integrates a range of complementary therapies. Following detox, clients engage individual and group therapy rooted in CBT and DBT. They can also anticipate psychoeducation classes that focus on addiction as a disease and relapse prevention techniques. CleanSlate also offers an array of medical and social services including drug testing, needle exchange, ambulance services, low-income accommodations and family planning.
The 12-step recovery model is not an integral component of the programming. However, the facility can connect clients to local AA/NA meetings for additional support.
The CleanSlate staff includes nurses, therapists, case managers, psychiatrists and physicians. MAT is the cornerstone of the programming.

CleanSlate also provides Subutex for pregnant clients.
