Clarity Counseling Review
Based out of Parker, Colorado, Clarity Counseling is an intimate counseling facility that offers standard outpatient therapy for mental health and behavioral issues. The organization is made up of the treatment team of Bryan and Caroline Metcalf, both of whom are state and nationally certified mental health practitioners. All treatment plans are flexible enough to suit most schedules.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, clients come in for an initial assessment and a first therapy session, which the organization offers free of charge regardless of if the client continues with care or not. As an outpatient-based treatment facility, on-site detox or stabilization services are not available (though referrals can be provided upon request). Once accepted, participants can begin working on a care plan with their assigned counselor.
Though each plan varies, treatment consists exclusively of individual therapy with evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), though the specifics may vary by counselor. More broadly speaking, both clinicians refer back to a client-centered therapeutic approach as well. Though participants can attend care for a variety of reasons, the organization specializes in treating substance abuse issues, eating disorders of all kinds, anxiety, depression, self-harm, OCD and PTSD. Because some of these issues may be co-occurring, basic dual diagnosis support is available. Still, those in need of medication management or further medical and psychiatric aid may need to seek it elsewhere. While 12-step participation is not always required, it may be encouraged in some cases.

In addition to the personal counseling programs, the facility also offers Level I and Level II state-certified DUI classes for court-ordered participants. As mentioned, the Clarity Counseling also allows participants to complete their initial therapy session free of charge as a kind of initial consultation. Finally, all participants can also work with the counselors to develop discharge and aftercare plans once they compete primary care as well.

In all, Clarity Counseling provides a wide range of client-centered counseling services with an emphasis on personal attention. Despite their small number of clinicians, the facility offers a plenty of evidence-based therapy methods exclusively through individual therapy. Treatment plans are individualized and can suit any schedule. Though clients in need of more intensive dual diagnosis support may need to seek additional help elsewhere, Clarity Counseling remains a strong resource for others in the area.
