Cityside Healthcare, Inc. offers treatment for substance abuse and mental health issues in Atlanta, Georgia. This outpatient program offers individualized care to both adults and adolescents with services including individual and group therapy. All treatment relies on evidence-based therapies.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, each client must undergo an initial assessment. In addition to treatment for substance abuse, support for co-occurring disorders is also available through therapy and psychiatry. Referrals for detox and residential treatment are available upon request.
Individual sessions usually last an hour each, creating space for privacy and one-on-one attention. This can be done as its own form of treatment or in conjunction with groups. Topics such as coping skills and relapse prevention are covered as is mental health when necessary and CBT is the main mode of treatment. The frequency of individual sessions varies though it typically takes place once a week.
Groups are also offered throughout the week and include both mental health and substance abuse topics. Some topics covered may include relapse prevention, life skills, coping mechanisms, processing and new ways of thinking.
Family and couples counseling are also available and are usually conducted on a weekly basis whenever deemed necessary. Family skills training is also available, which helps to inform family members on how to deal with substance abuse properly.
For those in need of medication for mental health issues, a psychiatrist and registered nurses are available. Services include prescribing, administering, monitoring and reviewing prescribed medications. Those with medical issues can also be referred to a primary care physician or health center whenever applicable.
The staff at Cityside Healthcare consists of psychiatrists, Master’s-level therapists, LADCs, registered nurses, recovery coaches and a children’s psychologist. Group sizes range from three to 12 clients at a time.

Aside from the more structured programs mentioned above, interventions, case management, medical services and tutoring are also available.
