Outpatient Treatment at an In-Network Cigna Drug Rehab Treatment Center

Even when an individual chooses to seek assistance for a substance abuse problem on his/her own, taking the first step may be difficult. Cigna’s in-network treatment centers understand that the evaluation process is the first step in creating a treatment plan for drug and/or alcohol abuse.

This evaluation usually includes:

  • Prior substance abuse/treatment history
  • Assessment of the individual’s current drug or alcohol abuse
  • Patient’s Social situation
  • Physical history
  • The Identification of drug rehabilitation treatment goals

Following the evaluation process, one of the substance abuse professionals at the in-network facility will recommend a specific treatment. The patient’s safety and the medical necessity of the treatment are always taken into consideration. Depending on the patient’s evaluation, he/she will receive treatment at an in-network facility offering inpatient services or at an in-network center that offers outpatient services.

Routine Outpatient Care (ROC) at an In-Network Cigna Drug Rehab Treatment Center

  • The ROC clinical care treatment program offers individuals one-on-one sessions with an experienced therapist.
  • Members may also be referred to an Addictionologist or Psychiatrist. These specialists can determine whether medication will help the member maintain his/her sobriety.
  • ROC clinical care treatment does not include treatment of complicated symptoms related to withdrawal.

Ambulatory Detox

  • This clinical care treatment is provided to members on an outpatient basis. It is geared toward highly motivated individuals who still need medical treatment to lessen complicated symptoms related to withdrawal.
  • Ambulatory Detox is an appropriate treatment for an individual who can receive treatment from a medical professional on a regular basis.
  • The patient must be able to visit the medical professional at the in-network treatment center often enough to allow him/her to be safely monitored while going through the drug rehabilitation detoxification process.

Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

  • This treatment teaches members about concepts related to addiction and recovery.
  • Members are generally encouraged to participate in at least one 12-step program.
  • A member will usually have treatment at a Cigna Drug Rehab Treatment Center 3 to 5 days a week.
  • A treatment session typically lasts from 3 to 4 hours.
  • Length of treatment may be a particular number of sessions or a specific amount of time.

Members who participate in an IOP program will usually be able to maintain a sense of normalcy. These programs frequently allow patients to continue living and working within their community.
