Choices Recovery Services Review
Choices Recovery Services is a substance abuse treatment facility in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Programs include Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and DUI classes for clients who are court-ordered to treatment or monitoring. Individuals are treated based on the 12-step recovery model and funding is available to those who require financial assistance. The facility employs staff who are in recovery themselves and bring a wealth of personal experience to their work. The aim at Choices Recovery is to empower clients to make better choices for themselves.
Treatment and Staff
The Choices Recovery IOP program is typically six to eight weeks in length. All IOPs in South Dakota are required to meet at least of nine hours a week. Group sessions are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with the morning group meeting from 10 am to 1 pm and the evening group from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Choices Recovery recommends no less than two individual counseling sessions during the course of treatment. Weekly individual sessions may be advised. The facility does not offer on-site 12-step meetings, but does require clients to attend two weekly 12-step meetings during the course of treatment.
Services also include assessments, which are generally $50 at intake (staff can adjust the cost of assessments depending on finances or need), aftercare, relapse-prevention groups, family and couples counseling, DUI classes, community education and SCRAM Alcohol Monitoring (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring).
There is funding available for treatment if the client meets income guidelines. The co-pay (with the funding) is $540, discounted to $400 if the clients pays the first day of treatment. Without funding, the cost is $1,000, discounted to $900 if the client pays the first day.
Choices Recovery has seven full-time staff members, four of whom are LADCs.
Extras
The DUI program costs $165 to attend, consisting of a 12-hour course that takes place two Saturdays a month for six hours per session.
In Summary
Choices Recovery Services has a singular focus: providing clients with the ability to make healthy choices within the framework of newfound independence. The IOP treatment program gives clients the opportunity to work or further their education while attending individual and group sessions. Though the expense here is not extraordinary for an intensive program, Choices Recovery Services still offers flexible payment options to clients who may have limited financial resources.
