Accommodations and Food

Treatment and Staff

At Chestnut Ridge Center, clients must first meet with an intake counselor to devise a treatment plan. When necessary, participants can go through the detox program which lasts for four to 10 days. This phase includes medication-assisted treatment when needed, as well as medical supervision around the clock. Once stabilized, clients generally continue on into one of Chestnut Ridge Center’s outpatient programs.

PHP meets Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 am to 2 pm. Treatment includes a mixture of group, family and individual therapy, using CBT as well as 12-step principles. Groups focus on skills, chemical dependency education, relapse prevention and communication skills. Support for mental health issues are also offered, through counseling and medication management. Clients are usually required to attend additional AA/NA meetings outside of treatment.

IOP offers treatment three times a week for three hours at a time with greater flexibility than PHP. The schedule allows clients to continue with therapy and monitored support while returning home to their everyday lives. A both group and individual therapy are available, with topics including education on recovery for clients and family members and emotional processing. Clients in this program are also required to attend AA/NA meetings during their free time. Length of participation in the IOP varies, though it usually lasts an average of 12 weeks.

For those addicted to opioids, the Comprehensive Opioid Addiction Treatment (COAT) program offers medically supported assistance through withdrawal. After a full evaluation, clients come in for dosing and therapy sessions. During treatment, clients are required to attend a minimum of four NA meetings per week while participating in random urinalysis testing.

The staff at Chestnut Ridge Center includes Master’s-level therapists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, dieticians and mental health clinicians. Group sizes for IOP and PHP range from eight to 12 at a time.

Extras

PHP offers transportation to clients in  Monongalia, Marion, Preston, Harrison and Taylor Counties. Both experiential and art therapy are incorporated into the treatment methods of all programs.
