Chaitanya Institute for Mental Health Review
With four separate facilities spread throughout India, Chaitanya Institute for Mental Health is a broad behavioral health organization that provides intensive treatment for clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Accommodations and Food
All told, the Chaitanya Institute for Mental Health has room for approximately 550 residents at any given time between its various facilities. Though the specifics vary somewhat by location, rooms are all set up dormitory-style with single, double, triple and quad rooms available; rooms for both men and women are available in separate blocks. Family rooms are also available. In general, bedrooms each feature twin or full beds, bedside tables, dressers and shared space—single rooms come with slightly larger beds, cupboards, chairs and a center table and a TV. The facilities also have common areas with TV, therapy rooms, air conditioning, on-site laundry, walking paths and fully-equipped kitchens. Residents are served three meals a day.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, clients go through an initial bio-psycho-social assessment process to help staff members develop their care plans. As an inpatient facility, those in need of medical detox can do so on-site along with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) before continuing onto therapy. While each care plan may vary, treatment includes both individual and group therapy with evidence-based treatment practices including CBT and DBT, though the specifics may vary by practitioner. Group sessions cover a wide variety of issues including life skills, 12-step recovery concepts, recreational therapy, family issues, yoga and art therapy. Dual diagnosis support is also available and both short and long-term stays are offered.
The staff at Chaitanya Institute for Mental Health consists of doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, RNs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.

Other options include a range of vocational therapies, computer classes and ambulance services as needed. Clients can also receive standalone assessments and psychological tests whenever necessary. The facility also has a special unit for adults with severe dementia. Upon completing a program, all participants can also work with case managers and staff to develop stepped down aftercare plans as well.
