Orlando FloridaCentral Florida Treatment Centers Inc Review

With five locations across the state, Central Florida Treatment Centers Inc has provided outpatient Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs since 1983. For adult clients seeking recovery from addiction to opiates, centers in Lake Worth, Palm Bay, Fort Pierce, Cocoa and Orlando are equipped to provide short and long-term treatment protocols.

Treatment and Staff

Walk-in or scheduled appointments for assessment are performed before admission, determining the client’s suitability for the program. Utilizing Suboxone or methadone, clients begin to safely withdraw from opiates without experiencing difficult physical symptoms. Counselors assist clients with eventually halting the use of all mind-altering substances, complete abstinence being the goal. Typically, clients begin with visiting a facility seven days a week, maintaining a dose that avoids symptoms of withdrawal. Clients have the option of remaining at a therapeutic dose or tapering off entirely. The process of tapering is gradual, with CFTC suggesting a reduction of no more than three milligrams a week, which is a process that takes around 12 months. A quicker detox is possible, though never less than six months, as shorter MAT programs are rarely successful.

Clients are required to attend at least one individual counseling session each week in order to receive doses, though more are available if desired. Clients are also introduced to 12-step meetings and have access to other recovery-oriented resources and programs. All MAT is performed by nurses and under the supervision of a medical director and ASAM-certified doctor. Clients receive continued physical and psychiatric assessment, ensuring ongoing safety and well-being. Those with co-occurring disorders receive medication management, though clients needing higher-level dual diagnosis support or residential treatment are referred elsewhere.

All clients must be over 18. Eventually, some clients may be approved to take home doses of medication and reduce their number of visits to the clinic. This is only allowed after 30 days of treatment and if seven additional criteria are met. These are: proven abstinence from all substances, regular attendance at counseling sessions, no evidence of behavioral problems, no recent criminal activity, a stable home environment and relationships, proof of legitimate income, satisfactory progress in treatment and an assurance that doses will be safely stored and managed in the home. All clients are subject to random drug testing and urinalysis throughout their entire course of treatment.

Extras

Central Florida Treatment Centers offers specialized MAT and counseling programs to pregnant women and veterans.

In Summary

Central Florida Treatment Centers provide more than just dispensary services for clients. The required counseling component means that staff is able to monitor progress on a personal level. While private insurance does not include MAT, Medicaid typically covers all but weekly $2 co-pays.
