Orlando based Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a treatment facility that provides short-term emergency inpatient programs in addition to extended outpatient tracks. Treatment is designed for clients of all ages who are struggling with acute mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders. The outpatient treatments include a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that integrate evidence-based approaches along with 12-step support and holistic methods. Treatment and Staff
The PHP is referred to as The Keys program and requires clients attend treatment five days a week for at least six hours per day. The IOP runs three days a week for a total of nine program hours per week. The IOP is a common step-down from the PHP, yet still delivers an intensive treatment schedule.
In both the PHP and IOP clients participate in group therapy and psychoeducation sessions throughout the day. There are also medication management options through Central Florida Behavioral Hospital including regular visits with the staff psychiatrist. Dual diagnosis clients attend AA meetings on site as a supplement to psychiatric treatment.
Therapeutic approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT and CBT. Group sessions address common issues like managing anger, communication, relapse prevention, problem solving skills, setting boundaries and identifying feelings. Additionally, clients learn about managing their mental illnesses and using their medication effectively. There are also codependency groups, and pain management options.
The PHP offers added protocols to include The Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment and the Illness Management and Recovery Model. These are client and family oriented treatments that are education based but also incorporate case management, outreach, recovery strategies and aftercare goal planning.
The staff includes several medical doctors, nurses, LCSWs, LPCs, psychiatrists and psychologists.
