Denver ColoradoCenter for Recovery Review

The Center for Recovery is an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility located in Denver, Colorado serving Aurora, Greenwood Village, Englewood, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Northglenn, Aurora  Counties and all Denver Metro Suburbs. CFR provides treatment for adults and adolescents with outpatient care, medication-assisted treatment, relapse prevention groups and family therapy. Opened in 2012, a modest staff of Master’s-level therapists provide clients with evidence based therapeutic methods and flexible scheduling.

Treatment and Staff

Center for Recovery offers two levels of treatment intensity: a basic outpatient option for clients with less severe symptoms and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for more structured and substantial treatment. Though clients must be detoxed prior to enrollment in either program, CFR does offer Suboxone referrals for clients who have recently completed a detox program. Dual-diagnosis support is also available with a staff psychiatrist.

Upon arrival, all clients are submitted to a bio-psycho-social assessment to accurately place the individual in the proper programming for their diagnosis. In order to commence treatment, clients must have two days clean and sober and be willing to participate in all therapeutic activities.

The programming at CFR includes a 12-week IOP track followed by a basic outpatient track for up to nine months. All clients receive an individualized treatment plan that adjusts according to their progress through the program. Clients attend three group therapy sessions per week, each lasting three hours. Groups focus on relapse prevention, psychoeducation and 12-step approaches to recovery. Clients have the option of either attending two individual therapy sessions or two family therapy sessions per month. Treatment is available for scheduling Monday through Friday in the evenings and on Saturday mornings.

The clinical staff at CFR are all Master’s-level practitioners or intern-level students who are completing their training requirements. Staff credentials include LCSWs, LPCs and Certified Addictions Counselors (CAC) that are level II to III. All program therapists primarily utilize CBT techniques when working with clients during group and individual therapy. Clients learn stress reduction techniques, coping skills, social skills and problem solving skills through group process.

While programming is not based on the 12-steps, clients are strongly encouraged to attend additional support groups in the surrounding community. Therapists have referrals for AA/NA, SMART Recovery, LifeRing and women’s-specific groups. Clients must remain abstinent during the entirety of their treatment process, regular drug testing and breathalyzer exams are conducted if staff suspect a client has used.

Extras

CFR offers an aftercare group on Thursday evenings. Clients focus on relapse prevention techniques and staying strong through their recovery. If a client wishes to have individual or family therapy sessions during aftercare, they may schedule sessions with their counselor.

In Summary

The Center for Recovery enables their clients to participate in basic outpatient and IOP while still being able to live at home and tend to their work, family and life responsibilities. With a staff of Master’s-level practitioners, clients attend group, individual and family therapy that is individualized to their needs and mental health status. If a client has additional mental health concerns, therapists offer community referrals for detox or more intensive treatment needs. Overall, clients attend intensive-level treatment in an intimate setting that is tailored to their schedules and needs.
