Center for Wellness Review
Center for Wellness (CFW) in the upscale New York City suburb of Monroe Township, New Jersey offers Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and standard outpatient treatment for substance abuse and mental health disorders. These programs are individualized and offer dual diagnosis support, as well as individual and group therapy. CFW’s outpatient program utilizes traditional evidence-based therapy and 12-step programming.
CFW was founded by double-board certified psychiatrist, Dr. Gagandeep Singh. CFW aims to fill a need in the community by providing clinically proven, client-focused care. Dr. Singh, who still serves as Executive Director, chose the location based on the great central location and easy accessibility from multiple highways.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment begins with an in-depth assessment followed up by placement in the most effective program track. Generally clients are coming to the facility after a residential program and are placed in IOP. The IOP runs three days or evenings a week for about six weeks, but the exact duration of care depends on the person. Once clients complete their goals in the IOP, they can step down to the standard outpatient program, which is individualized in terms of frequency and length. There is a separate adolescent track that caters to those aged 13 to 18.
Programming can be customized to accommodate the client’s work or school schedule, and include one individual session per week and several process group sessions. Treatment focuses on developing coping skills and tools for living clean and sober. There are a variety of therapy options offered including CBT, DBT, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT) and 12-step philosophies. Residents are required to attend several area NA/AA meetings per week.
In addition to Dr. Singh, the team at CFW includes LCSWs, MFTs, another consulting psychiatrist and several Master’s-level therapists.
