Center for Change, LLC Review
At Center For Change, LLC, adults are offered services for substance abuse and domestic violence in an outpatient setting. Treatment is catered to clients who are court-ordered into treatment for domestic violence or DUI/DWAI charges in Colorado. Self-referred clients can also benefit from CFC’s programs by attending group and individual therapy sessions. Services are available from CFC’s three Jefferson County facilities in Lakewood, Westminster and Wheat Ridge.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at CFC caters to each individual’s needs, though court-ordered clients are typically more restricted since they must follow the specific guidelines as required by the courts. Regardless, each participant must first undergo an evaluation with a therapist so that an individualized treatment plan can be developed.
Those seeking treatment at CFC are offered relapse prevention and domestic violence groups. If deemed necessary, clients can attend up to two groups a week plus one anger management group. Each relapse prevention group lasts an hour and a half.
Group sessions are offered at the Lakewood facility on Mondays at 5:30 pm and Thursdays at 10:30 am. The Westminster office holds groups on Wednesdays at 5:30 and Fridays at 12:30 pm while Wheat Ridge has groups on Sundays at 1 pm and Tuesdays at 5:30 pm. Relapse prevention sessions utilize CBT techniques. Clients are also offered gender-specific domestic violence groups to discuss ways of coping with anger.
Women’s groups are offered at the Wheat Ridge and Westminster facilities for an hour at a time. The Wheat Ridge group meets at 3 pm on Wednesdays and Westminster at 2:30 pm on Fridays. Men’s domestic violence groups are available at the Lakewood and Westminster location on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. As a supplement to group therapy, clients can also attend individual therapy sessions as needed. Each of these sessions also last an hour. Staff members consist of CSACs and LCSWs.
Extras
Those with DUI/DWAI’s are provided Level II Education services as a first step to treatment. They are then asked to complete the same therapeutic component offered to self-referred clients. All classes are available at each location for two hours at a time; urinalysis testing can also be conducted at each of the facilities.
