CenClearCenClear Review

CenClear is non-profit organization that was established in 1980 to provide community services to children and adults in central Pennsylvania. Offerings include early childhood developmental programs, family counseling and substance abuse recovery programs. Both an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and an outpatient program are available in the towns of Brookville, Clarion, Clearfield and Puxsutawney. A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is offered at the Clarion location only.

Treatment and Staff

The CenClear IOP program utilizes the Matrix Model for recovery and mental health treatment. Usually after completing a detox or inpatient program, clients meet with LADCs for intake and evaluation where a treatment schedule is established. Treatment typically lasts 90 days or more, depending on the client. Clients meet with their counselors for both individual and group therapy, an average of four to five sessions of each per week.

CenClear also offers an outpatient program which consists of psychotherapy sessions at any of the locations for six to nine months. Typically for five hours a week, clients can expect both group and individual therapy.

As previously mentioned, Cenclear offers a PHP only at its Clarion office. The PHP is ideal for clients who do not need the 24-hour supervision of a residential program but would still benefit from treatment that is more intensive than standard outpatient or even the IOP. The PHP at CenClear consists of scheduled treatment sessions at least three times per week with a minimum of 10 hours a week.

After treatment clients are encouraged to attend weekly AA/NA meetings in the community but CenClear is otherwise not a 12-step oriented rehab.

Extras

CenClear has proven a dedicated advocate for the importance of healthy families and strong education. As such, it has developed numerous programs since its inception to foster support for area youth. Some of these ventures include Early Head Start and Early Intervention, Head Start and Full-Day/Full-Year Heard Start, Head Start Child Care Partnership and Family Centers, just to name a few. According to its site, CenClear serves thousands of children and their families in the community annually.

In Summary

CenClear accepts all forms of insurance. Additionally, assistance from the Drug and Alcohol Commission is available. CenClear accepts referrals from courts, social services, schools, friends and families. With locations throughout rural and suburban areas of Centre and Clearfield Counties, CenClear continues to be a far reaching, comprehensive resource for citizens of central Pennsylvania. Those struggling with substance abuse could be served well seeking help through one of these programs.
