Cedar Ridge Men’s Residential Review
Based in Stillwater, Minnesota, Cedar Ridge Men’s Residential is gender-specific inpatient facility treating clients with a dual diagnosis. Part of the expansive Meridian Behavioral Health, Cedar Ridge’s unique program takes a whole-person approach to recovery by combining substance abuse treatment with mental health support.
Accommodations and Food
The Cedar Ridge house is situated on 40 acres of rural woodlands. It has a total of 34 beds for residential treatment and nine for detox. Residents share dorm-style rooms with one or two fellow clients. All units are furnished with dressers, night tables and shared closet space. Clients are served three meals a day in the facility’s cafeteria. Food is typical American-fare.
Treatment and Staff
Upon arrival, clients undergo an initial intake and assessment so that staff may create an individualized treatment plan based on their unique needs. Those requiring detox are admitted prior to beginning treatment. Using the Health Realization Model, treatment consists of individual and group therapy that incorporates evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) as well as the 12 Steps. Groups address anger management, living and coping skills, addiction education and relapse prevention. Medication-Assisted treatment (MAT) by way of methadone is available, as is medication management for psychiatric treatment for co-occurring disorders.
Staff consists of LADCs, CSWs and psychiatrists, along a certified nursing staff that provides 24-hour medical services.
Extras
Aftercare is offered by way of stepped down outpatient treatment. Additional services include standalone anger management groups and chemical health assessments.
