Cedar and Sage House Review

Cedar and Sage House is a men’s only sober living program in Tucson, Arizona. It’s designed for recent graduates of a 30 day or longer program who are in need of help transitioning back into their communities. The program is highly structured and requires a great deal of accountability from the clients, including regular participation in the 12-step community and a commitment to remaining sober.

Accommodations and Amenities

The home-like facility is in a private neighborhood in close proximity to public transportation, restaurants, shopping, and education and job opportunities. The one story, recently remodeled home has three double occupancy bedrooms that are fully furnished. Residents enjoy amenities such as Wifi throughout the house, a TV with cable, comfortable living room space and a fully stocked kitchen. There is also a washer and dryer in the house for clients to use.

Rules and Regulations

Any incoming clients must be totally sober for at least 30 days prior to move in, and get a sponsor within two weeks of entering the house. There is a required minimum of three AA meetings per week, and clients must acquire and maintain employment throughout their time in the program. There is a minimum requirement of 90 days that clients commit to staying at the house, and for the first 30 days there are no visitors allowed on the premises. Assigned chores must be completed daily, and every client is responsible for keeping the facility tidy and nice.

Every resident has to abide by the laws, not have any sexual criminal history, or aggressive behavior in the house. There is also zero tolerance for any drugs or alcohol, weapons or sexual activity in the house. If a client gets caught breaking any of these rules they are evicted immediately. In addition, there are random drug screenings performed in house by the manager, and if the client refuses to submit they are asked to leave. There are designated smoking areas outside of the facility, and there are regular house meetings held two times a week; attendance is mandatory.

The co-owners and house managers are four people that have experience with addiction and getting sober. They’re dedicated to providing a safe place for men who are early in recovery, committed to setting a foundation for long-term sobriety.

In Summary

Cedar and Sage House is a nice place for men to live while they learn how to be sober in their everyday lives. This is a program that requires the clients to be present and accountable while living with others who are in the same boat. It’s a wonderful resource for anyone completing an inpatient stay in the Tucson area, looking for additional support after they leave treatment.
