CBH – Elizabethtown Review
The privately-owned Center for Behavioral Health treatment conglomerate has 20 locations across the US, including four outpatient facilities in Kentucky. One of those, in Elizabethtown, is an hour from Louisville and, with a specialization in opiate addiction, uses medication, individual and group counseling to help clients regain control of their lives.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to admission, a free screening is used to determine which treatment will work best for the client. For $100 per week or $15 per day, clients receive methadone treatment or Suboxone for opiate addiction. When it comes to alcohol and other drug addictions, Vivitrol is used. Medication levels are always determined on an individual basis, with medical conditions, metabolism, body weight, opiate tolerance and addiction history taken into consideration.
In addition to medication, the facility offers a variety of therapeutic services. One-hour individual therapy sessions cost $50, while group therapy sessions cost $30. Group topics include relationships, trauma, relapse prevention, abuse, life skills, legal issues, securing basic needs, anger management, parenting and employment. Behavior modification techniques such as CBT and DBT are used regularly. Family therapy is also provided, costing $50 per one-hour session.
The duration of treatment is decided by the clinical team and varies depending on the individual case. Federal and state regulations require annual evaluations of patients to determine whether they should continue treatment.
While on-site AA/NA meetings are not offered, referrals to outside 12 step fellowships can be provided.
The staff includes doctors, nurses and counselors.
