Treatment and Staff

Before beginning treatment, clients undergo a comprehensive physical and psychological assessment. This evaluation helps the Carus team to determine the most effective individualized treatment plan. In most cases clients transition directly into the detox program. Carus offers a medically assisted detox that includes around-the-clock physician supervision and medications to curb unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Detox can last anywhere between two and 10 days, depending on the individual. Upon completion, clients transition into the residential program, with a minimum stay being 30 days.
The facility employs an integrative care strategy that combines a number of therapeutic models including individual and group therapy, family therapy, evidence-base methods like CBT and DBT and experiential modalities like equine therapy to promote emotional growth. In addition, Carus offers yoga, art and music therapy in addition to movement therapy.
