Capitol Care has been providing mental health and substance abuse outpatient services for adults and adolescents since 1998. Located in Stanhope, New Jersey, just one hour from NYC, this program prides itself on comprehensive, individualized treatment plans. Through group and individual therapy, the goal is to help clients find serenity and sobriety. In addition to treating addiction, the substance abuse program provides dual diagnosis support and medication management.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at Capitol Care is evidence-based, with dual diagnosis support for substance abuse and mental health issues. There are separate Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and outpatient programs for adults and adolescents. Prior to admission, clients must undergo an assessment to see which program is the best fit for them; the cost of the assessment is $150. While detox is not available, referrals to outside facilities can be made.
The IOP program is eight weeks long and involves a minimum of three hours of treatment three times a week. Clients who need extra support can attend treatment up to five times a week. IOP includes group therapy, individual therapy, CBT, education and a monthly family program. Individual therapy is one hour a week, although more sessions can be added for an additional fee. Group topics vary depending on the age of the client but may include nutrition, trauma, self-esteem, family communication, processing, meditation, employment and early recovery.
Once a client has successfully completed IOP, they can step down to the outpatient program, which meets once a week, for three hours. The structure is similar to IOP, with two hours of group and one hour of individual therapy each week. Relapse prevention is the primary focus, as clients begin to integrate recovery into their daily lives. This track costs $430 per week.
For those only interested in individual therapy or who feel they need additional sessions during their outpatient program, the cost is $70 per session. Psychiatric evaluations are available for $150, while medication management sessions are available for $75.
The staff includes therapists, counselors and a psychiatrist.
In addition to providing substance abuse support, Capitol Care also offers outpatient mental health programs for adults. These services are intended for those who need the structure and intensity of an inpatient program but do not require 24-hour care. Clients are able to participate in day program, IOP or outpatient. These programs include group therapy, recreational activities, creative arts groups and psycho-educational groups.
Capitol Care’s thorough outpatient treatment, dual-diagnosis support, family involvement and professional staff provide an affordable option for recovery. By committing to the therapeutic process, clients can live at home while still receiving an intense level of care.
