Acadia: Camp Recovery Center Outpatient Review
Located in the Bay Area of California, Camp Recovery Center offers outpatient and residential treatment for adults and adolescents. Three facilities are available for outpatient services in Campbell, Monterey and Scotts Valley. Founded in 1984, CRC has been treating chemical dependency for over three decades, using a unique treatment approach to help treat substance abuse.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Camp Recovery Centers are among many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs. All programs are CARF-accredited.
Treatment and Staff
Camp Recovery Center offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for men and women, youth and adults. After a bio-psycho-social assessment is taken, individualized treatment plans are developed. The program offers a holistic care approach, treating each client to heal their mind, body and spirit.
The IOP track is offered as a step-down program for individuals who have completed a primary residential or inpatient program. For 12 weeks, the client participates in group and individual therapy using CBT techniques. Groups are scheduled four days per week for three hours each session. Clients learn relapse prevention techniques, healthy coping skills, communication and boundaries. Some groups focus on psychoeducation so that clients can learn about addiction and the reality of their disease.
CRC has a support network that links community resources, medical care and chemical dependency treatment together. In addition to therapeutic activities, clients participate in 12-Step, SMART Recovery and Life Ring. All programming is adapted to the client so that they feel comfortable in their new sober lifestyle.
All clients also participate in individual therapy twice per week. Each individual is linked with a primary therapist who understands their unique needs and recovery goals. In addition to one-on-one sessions, the client and their family also participates in family therapy. Three-day intensives are held for the family to learn about addiction and help their loved one.
All treatment staff are experienced in working with co-occurring disorders and other concerns. The staff consists of CADCs as well as LADCs.
Extras
Aftercare is available to help bridge the gap between treatment and recovery at home. Coordination of meetings, aftercare groups and relapse prevention techniques ensure that each client can maintain their recovery. An alumni group also meets beyond aftercare to keep the clients unified after treatment ends. Alumni groups also have special coordinated retreats and activities.
