C-Line Community Outreach Centers Review
Located in Jersey City, New Jersey C-Line Community Outreach Centers is a non-profit community-based organization founded in 1999. The facility offers a variety of behavioral health and counseling services, including an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and general outpatient services for substance abuse. The facility estimates that it helps over 300 men, women and children each year with recovery and community services.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP at C-Line meets three times a week, usually in morning sessions from 9 am to noon. The program typically lasts for 16 weeks. Treatment generally takes the form of weekly group and individual therapy sessions led by LADCs, covering a variety of subjects. The facility maintains a small staff overall, with 10-15 counselors and administrators.
Clients engaged in the standard outpatient program follow a similar program but only meet twice a week. C-Line clients are introduced to 12-step concepts and are expected to attend local meetings in the community; there are no on-site meetings available. While there is no dual diagnosis support provided at C-Line, there is a staff psychiatrist who can meet individually with clients.
The facility also conducts random drug screens for those who may be attending treatment as a result of a court mandate. As a broader service, C-Line also provides employer drug screens for private companies. There is no official aftercare program at C-Line.
C-Line also offers a multitude of counseling and community services that dovetail with substance abuse recovery, including anger management classes, life skills training, HIV testing and education, nutritional support, general support groups, case management, legal referral assistance, housing assistance and public policy advocacy.
Extras
Unlike the majority of outpatient programs, C-Line does provide a meal each day for clients, usually a hot lunch after the morning sessions or an early dinner on Thursday evenings. Clients eat together in the group room and socialize during these meals.
In addition to the aforementioned services, C-Line also specializes in offering comprehensive family counseling which includes children, adolescents and adults. These sessions specialize in addressing school problems, peer pressure, self-esteem building, physical, sexual and emotional abuse, depression, anxiety, marital problems and gang-related issues.
In Summary
The substance abuse services at C-Line Community Outreach Centers are relatively basic. Clients attend a mixture of group and individual therapy sessions led by LADCs to complete a program determined by court mandate or their initial intake evaluation. Like many facilities of its size, C-Line functions primarily as a counseling facility with a small, but suitably comprehensive IOP and standard outpatient program.
