C.A.R.E. Addiction Recovery Review
Located in the seaside village of North Palm Beach, Florida, C.A.R.E. Addiction Recovery is a holistic treatment program that caters to individuals suffering from alcohol, substance, prescription, eating and process addictions. The facility provides residential services, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and standard outpatient care for both for adults and young adults.
Accommodations and Food
Residents are set up in suites that include a full kitchen, living room and balcony. There are two beds per room. Residents are required to do minor housekeeping chores to help them build life skills. In addition, the facility boasts a pool, dock, courtyard and fully-equipped gym; complete with a personal trainer, yoga instructor and a massage therapist.
Residents collaborate with a nutritionist to create a personalized meal plan.
Treatment and Staff
Clients are given an individualized treatment plan addresses specific needs and creates tangible goals. Length of stay varies but a minimum of 30 days is required. C.A.R.E provides individual and group therapy, as well as family and marital counseling. Treatment incorporates a modified 12-step plan, psychiatric evaluations, cognitive counseling, behavior therapy, nutritional counseling, anger management, spiritual counseling and physical education. Other therapeutic modalities include EMDR and REBT. Clients see a psychiatrist on a weekly basis and receive three to five one-on-one sessions with other specialists as well. The program provides a minimum of nine hours in group and individual counseling with sessions that range from four evenings to six full days a week. C.A.R.E. does not facilitate detox but it does provide dual diagnosis support.
There is a MD on staff who serves as the medical director, overseeing a staff of MFTs, LCSWs, CADCs, Certified Addiction Professionals and Certified Mental Health Professionals. The clinical staff also includes a gambling addiction consultant, an acupuncture physician, a registered dietitian, a spiritual counselor, a massage therapist, a sand therapist, an expressive therapist, a personal trainer and several yoga instructors.
Extras
C.A.R.E. offers four group acupuncture sessions to help clients dealing with withdrawal, anxiety, depression and insomnia.
As graduation nears, clients with work with counselors to create a continuing treatment plan. Extended care and relapse prevention services are available; including supervised housing, support group meetings, individual and group counseling, alumni activities and tele-therapy. Family therapy is also available to help members understand their role in their loved one’s recovery. Additionally, there is a family program that takes place once a month, where relatives of current and past clients are welcome.
Finally, C.A.R.E. facilitates an alumni program where graduates attend an honorary luncheon, receive certificates of recognition and an opportunity to serve as a role model to others.
