Treatment and Staff
The intake process begins with an initial phone call followed by a meeting with a counselor to help determine the individual’s potential level of care. After which, potential clients undergo an in-person assessment of substance abuse history and a determine whether he or she might need residential treatment or detox prior to beginning an outpatient program.
Treatment consists of group and individual counseling using a variety of evidenced-based techniques, such as CBT, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as relapse prevention, education and sharing. Groups usually have 10 to 12 clients and are led by a counselor. There is also a trauma group, empowerment and healthy self-image group for teen girls, health lifestyles group for adults with diabetes and a 10-week women’s support group. Individual sessions are scheduled as needed. The exact length and intensity of the program is based on the counselor’s assessment of the client’s need.
Upon client request, Bridges can facilitate individual sessions with the client, counselor and family members.
