The Basics
Brian Halstead is the founder of Reading, Pennsylvania’s East Coast Recovery. With over 20 years of experience prior to opening the facility, Halstead aims to provide drug and alcohol outpatient treatment in addition to his intervention services. Halstead is a CADC and a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP) working solely with clients who struggle with drugs and alcohol. The Approach
When it comes time for intervention, Halstead works closely with the loved ones of the potential client to identify what triggers the addiction and how best to approach a solution. Halstead and the facility approach interventions in three steps. The first is an assessment meeting where Halstead receives essential information about the potential client, learns the concerns of the family and develops a plan of action. The second step is working alongside the loved ones and rehearsing the intervention with those who plan to participate. The final step is the intervention itself where the client is brought in by their loved ones. Based on the situation, a formal intervention may be done immediately. The process of planning and following through with the intervention may take up to a few weeks, but the staff at East Coast Recovery stays on hand from beginning to end. With his certifications and years of experience, Halstead is able to facilitate the entire process.
