Bresnahan and Ball Counseling Services Review
Bresnahan and Ball Counseling Services offers outpatient services in a private office setting in Londonderry, New Hampshire— a small farming town in Rockingham County and bordered by the cities of Manchester and Derry. The facility was opened in 2008 by Joanne Bresnahan, a multi-credentialed therapist with over 30 years of treatment experience. All treatment practices are evidence based, facilitated privately by Bresnahan and are available for adults, adolescents and children.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to enrolling in treatment, potential clients are asked to email or call the facility to arrange an appointment for an assessment. Clients are evaluated and an individualized treatment plan is created with the therapist. Court-ordered evaluations are accepted and may be completed during assessment for court obligations. There is no standard length of treatment or treatment path as all clients have unique treatment objectives that are driven by their progress. All therapeutic practices use DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques. Clients are strongly encouraged to attend 12-step meetings in conjunction with therapy.
Group therapy sessions are conducted in the evening by the therapist. Depending on the client’s needs as determined upon enrollment, each a combination of groups offered, which include a substance abuse group, a dual diagnosis support group, DUI/DWI support groups, adolescent groups, anger management and batterers support groups—all held on different nights. In addition to group services, BBCS offers individual therapy available during the day and evening hours. All group and individual therapy sessions last one hour in length.
Joanne Bresnahan’s certifications include Master’s-level LADC, Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and CADAC Level II. She is certified to work with DUI/DWI clients as well as domestic violence and anger management qualifying clients. She also meets Employee Assistance Program (EAP) needs, provides court-mandated treatment and is qualified to treat process addictions like gambling.
Bresnahan is closely affiliated with and runs local hospital programs that offer detox and additional mental health support. If a client is in need of detox or extra assistance, she will arrange assessments and enrollment in outside programs.
Extras
Bresnahan offers family therapy and aftercare options that include additional therapy after treatment has concluded. All appointments are independently scheduled and are at the discretion of the therapist. Treatment goals and objectives are unique to each client and their families, sessions may be frequent or random according to needs.
