Brazos Recovery Services Review
Located about 80 miles southwest of Dallas, in a town called Morgan, Texas, Brazos Recovery Services provides luxury treatment to men over 18 struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Brazos Recovery Services is in a beautiful remote location. The facility offers a variety of options, including detox and residential treatment for those seeking a high level of care, as well as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and sober living home.
Accommodations and Food
The Brazos Recovery facility is a luxurious home set on the banks of a man-made lake. There are a total of 20 beds in eight rooms, with full or twin-sized beds, dressers and closet space. There are maid and laundry services provided. The facility also boasts lovely outdoor living areas, an on-site gym, a pool and basketball courts.
Throughout their stay, all residents are served three healthy meals a day prepared by the house culinary staff. Residents eat family-style and most dietary restrictions and preferences can be accommodated.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, residents must go through an assessment process to help staff members develop their individualized treatment plans. Brazos Recovery Services offers and on-site medical detox that typically lasts three to five days. Once clients are physically stable, they can join the residential treatment program.
Though the specifics of treatment may vary, the residential program at Brazos is 90 days. Upon completion of the 90-day program, clients are given the option to join the IOP three evenings a week for another eight weeks. Treatment in both programs includes individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices, such as DBT, CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The curriculum also mandates 12-step participation, with on-site meetings daily, and includes dual diagnosis support with medication management, as necessary. Group topics include healthy communication, grief and loss and relapse prevention.
The staff at Brazos Recovery Services is all men and consists of CADCs, case managers, physicians and Master’s-level clinicians. Many former clients now work at Brazos Recovery.
Extras
Holistic treatment options include art and music therapy. Clients also have plenty of time for outdoor activities like hiking fishing, canoeing and swimming in the lake.
For aftercare the facility provides IOP and referrals to its men’s sober house, called Ebby’s Place, for those who wish to continue their recovery in the Brazos family.
