Bradford Health Services: A Reprieve for Women Review
Located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, A Reprieve for Women is a long-term, residential treatment program for females struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Accommodations and Food
The Reprieve facility is a sprawling, residential home, which has room for up to 16 women at a time in a total of seven and a half bedrooms. Rooms are typically shared between two to four residents at any given time. Each room includes twin and full-sized beds, nightstands, lamps, dressers and beautiful decorations. In addition to the bedrooms, the facility also includes a media room with a television and WiFi, an outdoor pool, intimate group therapy rooms and a spacious and modern kitchen. Throughout their stay, all residents are also served three delicious meals a day by an on-site chef, served family-style.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, all clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members determine their needs and their treatment history. While the home itself is not equipped to provide on-site detox, those in need can get those services through Bradford Health Services as necessary. Once stabilized, they can begin treatment.
While each program is individualized and may differ at least somewhat from one another, treatment typically consists of daily individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based treatment practices including CBT and DBT along with trauma-informed care. As the program is specially designed for women who are transitioning back into college or a career after a personal upheaval, other elements of treatment include life skills, academic and career readiness training, relapse prevention and 12-step participation. As mentioned, dual diagnosis support is available as well along with medication management whenever necessary. The program typically lasts for six months.
The staff at A Reprieve for Women consists of LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, dietitians, RNs, supervising doctors and psychiatrists as well as additional Master’s and PhD-level clinicians.

In addition to the above, special services are available for women struggling with eating disorders and body image issues. As mentioned, Bradford Health Services also provides a wide range of additional programs for teens and adults at facilities throughout Alabama.
