Bow Creek RecoveryBow Creek Recovery Review

Bow Creek Recovery is an Idaho rehab center that’s been in operation since 2008. Offering luxury-level treatment at half the luxury price, for clients in the continental United States staying more than 30 days, it will even pay for airfare. Located in Treasure Valley just off the Boise River, Bow Creek provides solid treatment at a very fair price.

Accommodations and Food

Aside from its main facility, Bow Creek Recovery also has a newer sister center in Bella Vista with 16 beds between the two. Both are low-key, home-style locations in woodsy settings. Bella Vista is the larger of the two and it’s where most residents live. Everyone gets a roommate and rooms are simply furnished, though there are social areas where clients can watch TV during downtime. Bella Vista also has a pool table for recreational use. Cell phones may be brought though they’re kept under lock and key; iPods, on the other hand, are sometimes allowed under the guidance of counselors.

One will definitely find holistic treatment here with a focus on mind and body—that means a private chef serving nutritious meals three times daily.

Treatment and Staff

The program here is primarily 12-step based with CBT/DBT, one-on-one and process group counseling and off-site AA meetings (five times a week). It also offers dual-diagnosis support, and can handle a wide array of psychological issues overlapping with addiction. While the minimum stay is 30 days, programs are offered in 60 and 90-day varieties as well, as Bow Creek firmly believes long-term treatment is the way to go. This is reflected in their emphasis on relapse prevention planning, too—by looking closely at personal history, triggers and support systems, Bow Creek wants alumni to leave with a plan both “on paper and in mind.”

The staff is quite small, though it does include several addiction counselors and an on-site doctor. Medically-assisted detox followed by a Suboxone regimen that residents gradually wean from during their stay is available.

Extras

Beyond the basics, Bow Creek also provides access to a nearby wellness center which includes an on-site gym, swimming pool, rock climbing, a basketball court, a hot tub and saunas. Aftercare is also a big focus; when necessary, those leaving Bow Creek can step down into an outpatient program track, or simply take advantage of free aftercare support every Wednesday at Bella Vista. Finally, the center also offers intervention services for those who need it, as well as a monthly family group with individual family sessions if desired.

In Summary

Overall, Bow Creek offers a comprehensive rehab package, along with a good balance of treatment and recreation at a fair price. Healthy food, a small number of clientele and serene surroundings are certainly an additional perk.
