The Basics
Bob Lemoine is the owner and founder of Lemoine Interventions, located just north of Daytona Beach in Ormond Beach, Florida. Lemoine offers an array of substance abuse services including crisis interventions, sober coaching and counseling. He works alongside his wife, Karen Chrapek, who is also an intervention specialist. Bob brings more than three decades of recovery experience to every client he works with, and provides a caring and empathetic approach to every case.
The Background
Karen Chrapek and Bob Lemoine met in 1984 at a recovery meeting in Connecticut and have been married for more than 30 years. Their close relationship got even closer in 2008 when Bob was almost killed in a car wreck. That accident set off a chain of events that led to him getting a liver transplant. That experience made their relationship stronger. Based on their passion and commitment to helping others, especially families who’s loved ones struggle with addiction, they opened Lemoine Interventions in August 2015.
Lemoine has a Master’s degree in business and organizational management, is a member of the Association of Intervention Professionals (AIP) and is currently in training to become a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP). He is studying under the tutelage of Patricia Pike, and is actively developing new ways of approaching interventions for clients with co-occurring disorders.
The Approach
Bob doesn’t subscribe to just one style of treatment, and has utilized many different methods, including the Stages of Change, The Johnson Model, surprise and Family Systemic Intervention models. No matter what method is used, he believes that every intervention should be handled in a loving and non-judgmental way.
Lemoine Interventions provide treatment planning for the client that includes coordinating with a treatment facility, sober coaching services before or after treatment, crisis interventions and aftercare, which can include life skill coaching, outpatient counseling, referrals and connections to 12-step support groups, and peer support. Additionally, Lemoine Interventions can offer sober travel companionship to and from treatment, case management for both the families and the client. If the individual leaves treatment early, or decides they would like to move to a different facility, Lemoine steps in—communicating with the facility and their families while putting a new treatment plan into place.
While the individual is in treatment they have access to the staff at any time, day or night, and family members are offered 12 step referrals and weekly coaching services. A large part of the success of the client revolves around their loved ones also seeking help and learning about the disease of addiction. Lemoine’s goal is to provide education and support to everyone throughout the process.
Post-Intervention and Summary
Lemoine and his staff have a motto at their agency—Heart 2 Heart. This illustrates the idea that one addict helping another is the best way to heal. No matter where the client is in their addiction, or if the family has just about given up on helping, Lemoine Intervention is dedicated to finding healing solutions for all, and being there to follow through.
