Blue Tiger Recovery Outpatient Review
Based out of Palm Springs, California, Blue Tiger Recovery is a multi-faceted treatment organization providing a range of services for clients struggling with behavioral health issues. In addiction to addiction treatment, the facility provides help for a co-occurring disorders including mental illness, trauma and sex addiction.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, all individuals go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop their individualized treatment plans. Those in need of detox can do so on site before beginning therapy. Program lengths can vary depending on each client’s needs; both Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) are available.
The IOP generally consists of several three-hour treatment sessions per week while the PHP is more intensive and meets more frequently. Both include individual and group therapy based around evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT and EMDR. Dual diagnosis support is available. While 12-step participation is not required, clients are encouraged to attend off-site peer support meetings such as AA/NA or SMART Recovery.
The staff at Blue Tiger Recovery consists of LMFTs, LPCs, psychologists and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
An entire range of holistic care is offered, including art and narrative therapy as well as Somatic Experiencing.
Family therapy and neurofeedback sessions can be worked into treatment. As mentioned, other programs specific to behavioral issues, including sex addiction and trauma, are also available as “bootcamps”—meaning three- and 11-day intensive treatment tracks.
Those who complete primary care can also continue on to stepped down therapy as a form of aftercare.
