Bliss Recovery Solutions Review
Founded in 2015 in Boynton Beach, Florida Bliss Recovery Solutions provides safe and structured sober living for a small group of men in early recovery. The home is located in Palm Beach County, between Boca Raton and West Palm Beach. Their mission is to provide a family-style setting while men rebuild their lives, and attend recovery support group meetings, many of which are found in the local area. The owner and house manager, Patrick Dude, has been in recovery for four years. Dude is a sound engineer, as well as music producer and provides a state-of-the-art sound recording studio on the premises, where residents are able to express themselves by creating music and composing songs.
Accommodations and Amenities
Bliss Recovery Solutions accommodates between four and five men, not including the house manager. Dude keeps his numbers small, so that he can provide ample one-on-one support. The house is located in close proximity to the beach, a hospital and two churches, including one church which holds 12-step meetings.
Clients are paired in sunlit rooms which include pastel colored walls, twin beds with colorful comforters, matching pillows, nightstands, modern style lamps, dressers and closets. The house includes two bathrooms with glass shower doors, and accent tiles. A large living room includes a 60-inch flat screen TV with cable, and there is also a meditation/meeting room on the premises. There is also a screened-in patio with a barbeque grill.
While Dude ensures that the house is fully stocked with food, residents are also responsible for their own groceries. Meals are prepared in a large, fully equipped kitchen. Dude is on hand, and teaches clients cooking skills. Amenities include cable TV, Wi-Fi, a state-of-the-art music studio, laundry facilities and a 24-hour security monitoring system. Dude lives on the premises, and is the residential manager.
Rules and Regulations
Prior to admission, clients undergo a comprehensive assessment with Dude, who also conducts a background check. While some residents have attended an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), others have graduated from a residential treatment facility, applicants are screened on a case-by-case basis to ensure that Bliss Recovery Solutions is an appropriate fit. All residents must have undergone detox, and must commit to a six-month minimum length of stay.
At Bliss Recovery Solutions, all clients must be out of the house between the hours of 10 am and five pm, looking for work, performing community service or attending school. Requirements for employed residents include attending three weekly 12-step meetings, being at the house meeting and performing household chores. Unemployed clients must attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Clients are encouraged to attend 12-step, Celebrate Recovery or SMART Recovery meetings, with the premise that not one size fits all.
While the curfew varies, per client’s needs, for the most part, the initial curfew is 8 pm, followed by a 10 pm curfew and finally, a midnight curfew. All curfew times are seven days a week. Other requirements include finding and actively working with a sponsor, working the steps and maintaining a positive and healthy attitude towards recovery, and life, in general. Random drug and alcohol screenings are conducted. While the house practices a zero tolerance policy, Dude ensures that residents who relapse are transported to a safe destination, after leaving the house.
Extras
Other services besides housing include vocational counseling. Dude helps his clients get work, and provides ample job readiness support. Bliss Recovery Solutions is a member of the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR), which stresses high standards from its affiliates.
The 30-day cost is $1,000. Move in cost is $725, which includes the first and last week’s rent.
In Summary
With Dude at the helm, clients at Bliss Recovery Solutions are in wonderful hands. Not only do they receive ample one on one support, but also the house is in close proximity to the beach. Recently, Dude had further renovations done to the house, as well. Residents also have the extra bonus of being able to express their feelings through music in the recording studio, an activity which is highly popular and further creates a sense of camaraderie among residents.
