Annville KentuckyBeth’s Blessing Review

Beth’s Blessing is named for grade school teacher, Elizabeth Denman, who lost her life due to a drunk driver in 2010. Beth’s Blessing is a women’s only residential substance abuse treatment facility located in Annville, Kentucky. It offers substance abuse treatment with Christian values, along with evidence-based therapy methods. Beth’s Blessing, part of the Addiction Recovery Care family of facilities, is CARF Accredited and offers individual and group therapy along with holistic therapeutic options, and programming for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.

Accommodations and Food

Beth’s Blessing is situated in a two-story stone house near the Appalachian Mountains. It is part of the Annville Institute campus. This historic house, along with buildings that house several non-profit organizations, like a Christian school, an Equine training center, gym and pool and a thrift store, were originally built on by Reverend William Worthington over 100 years ago.

The women’s living quarters can accommodate up to 10 women in shared bedrooms with full beds, two full bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room with TV. During their time in treatment, the women work out at the gym on the grounds, swim in the campus pool and participate in the many activities that take place on the grounds daily. The women have frequent sober outings, like movie nights and dinners. All food is included while in treatment, and the clients all participate in the preparing of the meals.

Treatment and Staff

Treatment at Beth’s Blessings is individualized and abstinence based, which even means no nicotine. The facility performs weekly, random drug and alcohol testing along with a comprehensive schedule of group and individual therapy sessions. The groups focus on relapse prevention and incorporates the 12-steps, psychoeducational groups and life skills support, which can include job training skills and coping mechanisms.

Once a client enters into the treatment program at Beth’s Blessing, they will typically participate in one hour of individual therapy per week and up to 15 hours of group therapy that cover parenting, anger management, or relationship counseling. The residents will work closely with staff to develop an aftercare plan that may involve a sober living facility or an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). And even though the programs at this facility are Christian focused, offering 12-step and Celebrate Recovery, Beth’s Blessing is open to all.

The staff at Beth’s Blessing are CADCs, case managers, and residential staff that offer support 24 hours a day.

Extras

There are also GED classes as well as DUI programs offered. Clients may receive a medical exam and care at the facility, as well as aftercare resources to help continue education, obtaining state assistance or legal help once they complete treatment.

In Summary

The programs through Addiction Recovery Care have designed very specific treatment plans that have helped many clients over the years. There is a very strong element of Christianity that may not be for everyone, but women in need can find their lives changed for the better through the programs offered at Beth’s Blessing.
