The 67-year-old actress broke down in tears as she detailed her “crazy” addiction and how cocaine had “killed her soul,” The Expositor reported.“I had my niece and nephew round. I went upstairs and I was snorting coke then I came down and I was taking care of them and I thought, ‘My God, I’m up here snorting coke then coming down and taking care of these babies. This is horrible,’” she explained. “I called my sister and lied and said I wasn’t feeling well, could she pick up the kids. That was when I just went, ‘you’ve lost your soul totally.’ I had stepped over the line. Now the crazy was running me, instead of being wild.”
Korn Frontman Hopes His Wife’s Death Will Inspire Change
Korn’s frontman Jonathan Davis hopes that his wife’s death will spur change in terms of addiction and mental health. In a written statement, Davis revealed that his 39-year-old wife Deven had struggled with mental health problems as well as drug addiction from years, causing her to become estranged from her family. “She is the reason I have advocated so hard for those struggling with their mental health,” Davis wrote. “I want her story to inspire people to reach out for help, and not to be afraid or hide from their illness. If you know someone with a mental illness, have compassion and empathy, and know that they are not bad people, they are suffering.” He added that he wanted her death to “inspire change” with the law, in order to “help people like me help others get the help they need. She wasn’t well enough to realize how sick she really was, and wasn’t able to get the help for herself that she really needed. This shouldn’t have to happen to other mothers, or anyone for that matter.”
US Justice Department Intensifies Their Fight Against Opioids
US Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced another federal crackdown on illegal opioids this Wednesday, this time targeting drug dealers and doctors. According to The New York Times, Sessions said at a press conference that the latest round of crackdowns from the Justice Department are “a warning to every trafficker, every crooked doctor or pharmacist, and every drug company, every chairman and foreign national and company that puts greed before the lives and health of the American people.” This past July, Sessions announced that he would position prosecutors within districts with the country’s highest overdose rates. At the time, more than 50 doctors had been arrested and 6,500 defendants had been indicted in opioid-related crimes, thanks to Sessions’ efforts. He also started a task force to prosecute people throughout the entire opioid supply chain, the Times noted, including manufacturers, doctors, pharmacies, distributors and sellers on the street.

Entrepreneur and model Jenna Jameson has opened up on social media about the importance of self-care to her long-term sobriety. “Gone are the days of non-stop salon trips, spa days and shopping excursions,” the 44-year-old revealed on her Instagram account. “Being in recovery forces you to stay accountable and sort through your feelings. THAT to me is self care. I take time everyday to quiet myself and really feel what is going on in me,” she wrote. “I wasn’t always able to do this because the demons were too loud. They’ve been gone quite a few years now and it’s allowed me to really find peace. Peace to stay sober and to achieve what I normally thought was impossible.” Jameson has routinely been honest about her struggles with mental health and sobriety in the past, crediting yoga for helping her.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has come a long way from his booze-fueled days on MTV’s Jersey Shore.The 36-year-old TV personality celebrated 33 months of sobriety on Saturday, announcing the milestone with a post on his Instagram account. “33 Months Clean & Sober #cleanchallenge,” he wrote. “Went from running into a wall to down on one knee. We do recover.” Sorrentino also tagged the Discovery Institute in his post, which he’s previously credited for helping him beat his addiction to alcohol and prescription painkillers. He also admitted to People that shooting Jersey Shore Family Vacationin Miami Beach wasn’t without its problems. “I had a very strong foundation for my recovery with over two years when I entered the house,” he said of the new show. “But I did have to challenge myself to go out and film a whole season of Jersey Shore and have fun without alcohol—to show the youth out there that it is possible.” He claims that, “it took a lot of hard work just to get there” as well as having to “challenge myself to do my job and be funny and be myself.”
Stone Sour Guitarist Claims That Sobriety Remains “Difficult”
Stone Sour guitarist Josh Rand revealed that staying clean and sober while touring has been “more difficult” than he expected. Earlier this year, Rand sat out the Canadian leg of Stone Sour’s Hydrograd tour in order to receive treatment for alcohol and Xanax abuse. During a recent interview with Des Moines, Iowa radio station Lazer 103.3, Rand admitted that adjusting to life on the road hasn’t been easy. “Europe, for me, was really trying,” he said. “When I was touring in the US, it was easy for me to have structure, and that’s one thing that I learned on both of these tours—the US one and then the European summer tour—I’m a guy that needs structure.” He added that while he faced “temptation” a number of times while in Europe, he made it through. “I have a great support group within the band and the people that work for us, and then my fiancée came out midway through, so that was the extra support,” he noted. “But it was a little bit more difficult than what I thought going into it.”
