Behavioral Neuroscience Institute Review
Founded in 2008, Behavioral Neuroscience Institute is a set of outpatient treatment clinics for psychiatric and psychological conditions, including dual diagnoses, in children and adults. Both founders, Drs. Arastou Aminzadeh and Oliver Ahmadpour, are psychiatrists. Testing is individualized for each client and, depending on the circumstance, may include a clinical interview, collateral interviews, reviews of records, a formal battery of psychological testing or a psychological report with recommendations for treatment.
The Behavioral Neuroscience Institute focuses on evidence-based modalities, featuring somatic experiencing, CBT, DBT, humanistic therapy, attachment therapy, psychodynamic processing, psychoanalysis, mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). A bio-psycho-social-spiritual model is used for diagnosis and assessment, addressing each client on a wholly individualized level. Treatment addresses past stressors and painful events, incorporating that knowledge into an awareness of brain function and human behavior.
Care is available for children and adolescents as well as adults. When necessary, the Behavioral Neuroscience Institute offers advanced psychopharmacology alongside Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) to ensure that medications are not conflicting with one another, do not cause severe side effects and are effectively targeting a client’s condition.
