Beginnings TreatmentThe Basics

Located in Santa Ana, California, Beginnings Treatment Centers provides a full range of programs for men and women with addictions and co-occurring disorders. Though the organization offers Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), those in need of more intensive care can attend its residential treatment.

Accommodations and Food

Altogether, the organization has four facilities in residential areas throughout the nearby town of Costa Mesa. There are a total of 12 detox beds, 15 residential beds and 15 transitional beds in private and semi-private rooms. The rooms themselves come with full beds, dressers and closet space. Each of the homes has shared living areas with cable TV and couches, outdoor areas and fully-equipped kitchens. Residents can expect to be served three meals a day, prepared by on-staff chefs.

Treatment and Staff

Before beginning a program, all clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop individualized treatment plans. Those in need of detox can do so on-site before continuing on to treatment. Though each program may differ depending on each resident’s needs, plans include both individual and group therapy based in evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT. Groups cover many topics including stress management, relapse prevention, family dynamics, social skills and 12-step recovery concepts. Dual diagnosis support including medication management is also available.

The staff is made up of a well-rounded mix of psychiatrists, MDs, RNs, psychologists, MFTs, CADCs and additional Master’s-level counselors.

Extras

Other treatment approaches include holistic methods like meditation, mindfulness training and guided imagery training. Staff members also take clients on trips to the movies, local ROPES courses and other rotating cultural events.

As mentioned, less intensive IOP and PHP tracks are available as well as aftercare options. The organization also hosts in-house AA/NA meetings on Wednesdays specifically for program alumni.

In Summary

Overall, Beginnings Treatment Centers is a comprehensive network with a full continuum of treatment available. All plans are individualized and include evidence-based care, holistic methods and 12-step support. While costs vary by insurance and program specifics, Beginnings Treatment Centers’ inpatient option is a viable resource for someone looking to set the foundation for recovery in a safe, comfortable and structured setting.

  1. The owner of this facility Tarek is a complete moron. I don’t care if the guy is a homosexual. That is his personal business. The staff is very confused and not thorough at all. The facilities are not comfortable and are laid out in a way to just push as many people as they can though and maximize each persons profitability. Does not take a genius to recognize that they are struggling financially. Not only are they struggling but the quality of attention that patients receive is terrible. The facility will no doubt die out soon. Not worth wasting your time or insurance money here. Tarek like the facility is garbage. His little man syndrome is ridiculous.
