Beauterre Professionals Inpatient Program Review
Beauterre Recovery Institute is an inpatient treatment facility west of Rochester, in the town of Owatonna, Minnesota. One of its three programs catering to adults dealing with addiction or a dual diagnosis is the professionals program. This track offers specialized treatment for working professionals who face regulatory requirements in order to return back to work. Beauterre employs a “whole person” approach with individualized treatment plans, holistic offerings, and 12-step support. The professionals program is dedicated to fostering a private and comfortable treatment experience. The goal is for individuals to emerge with a sense of wellbeing, armed with the proper tools to stay sober and return to work with confidence.
Accommodations and Food
The 60 bed facility sits on over 180 acres, most of which is quiet and peaceful prairie land. There are single and semi private bedrooms available. Each room offers queen sized beds, en suite bathrooms, dressers, desks and seating area. Residents enjoy common spaces throughout the building, and on each floor there is a lounge with couches and TV, books and games. In addition, the campus has a fitness center, tennis and basketball courts, and several walking trails.
The private chef prepares three gourmet meals a day in the five star dining room. The meals are prepared with the finest ingredients and to the highest standard. Snacks are set out through the day as well. Those with dietary restrictions, such as Kosher, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian are accommodated.
Treatment and Staff
The professional program is cognizant of the sensitive issues that clients in this track face. As a result, they are able to provide consistent assessments. At the intake meeting, staff evaluate the incoming resident medically, physically and psychologically. Medication management is available as part of the program, and frequent evaluations take place to ensure that they are acclimating and responding to the proper medications.
Treatment includes evidence-based approaches and 12-step support. Common therapies are CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness and more. Group therapy covers topics like grief and loss, health education, gratitude and psychoeducation. Clients build life and coping skills, receive spiritual guidance, and nutritional education.
At every level of care in this program clients address their specific goals and needs that pertain to their professional situation. There is a good deal of peer support and relationship building. Clients also undergo assessments in preparations for their return to work, which are designed to satisfy any requirements they need to meet prior to their discharge from the program.
The staff is comprised of Board certified medical doctors and psychiatrists, and Master’s-level therapists. Their credentials include LADC, LICSW, LPCC and LPC.
Physical fitness is an essential element of treatment at Beauterre, and clients work out on a regular basis, take yoga classes and receive acupuncture, massage or time on the campus golf course. There is also equine therapy, biofeedback and expressive arts therapies.
A year long aftercare program is included in the cost of tuition. This consists of phone and online support.
A weekly family program on campus includes counseling, education and recreational activities.
Professional clients at Beauterre are taken care of throughout their treatment experience. The treatment tracks offer customized care, holistic approaches and a myriad of recreational and stress reducing activities. While in this level of care, clients experience a supportive and caring atmosphere, peer support, and qualified professional treatment that sets the foundation for continued recovery.
