Located in beautiful Montreal, BACA is a treatment facility for men and women struggling eating disorders. Unlike many treatment facilities that function as weight loss clinics, BACA focuses on achieving a healthy relationship with food and weight. In addition to standard outpatient therapy, the facility offers a comprehensive Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, the facility uses a comprehensive assessment to determine the the client’s specific needs and goals. The team then creates a personalized treatment plan. BACA offers IOP services ideal for clients that require a therapeutic structure but cannot commit to a residential program. With flexible scheduling, BACA clients can receive tailored therapy while still working or going to school. The IOP, available year-round, is completely customizable with a range of treatment lengths, therapy sessions and monitored meals available. The PHP is a 12 week program offered twice a year and runs between 10 am and 7 pm on weekdays.
BACA utilizes an integrative model of care that includes evidence-based practices, psychoeducation, relapse prevention technique and a psychiatric evaluation. Clients engage in individual and group therapy rooted in CBT, DBT, humanistic and psychodynamic modalities. Nutritional coaches work closely with clients to set food guidelines and weight management goals. BACA also utilizes holistic methods mindfulness meditation, drama therapy, psychodrama as well as support and therapy for the family of client. In addition, the facility offers psychoeducation classes. They focus on body image issues, anxiety, compulsive snacking and diet. Clients develop positive self-esteem, learn about healthy eating and garner effective coping strategies.
The BACA team is comprised of Master’s-level therapists, psychologists, nutritionists, physicians, PhDs and a consulting massage therapist. While the 12-step method is not an integral component, medication management is available for clients with co-occurring disorders.

For IOP and PHP clients, BACA offers a sober apartment with space for four.
BACA also offers specialized programming for adolescents as well as athletes. The staff works hand in hand with coaches to determine reasonable goals.
