Axis Pacific View Recovery Center Review
Axis Recovery is a substance abuse treatment network with several locations in southern California. Axis Pacific View Recovery Center in Santa Monica is the newest addition to the Axis family and the most economical of the residential facilities. The other Axis Recovery centers include Axis East, the luxury option near Indian Wells, Axis West, a mid-range choice in Culver City and the original Axis House, a men’s sober living. The three Axis residential locations serve Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, offering detox, inpatient and outpatient services.
Accommodations and Food
The Axis Pacific View facility is an updated multi-family house close to the Santa Monica Pier and the Third Street Promenade. No more than 10 clients share gender-specific suites in one of five modern, well-equipped apartments. Each unit features a living room, dining room and kitchen. New clients start on the first floor to provide the maximum amount of support and medical supervision during detox and the early stages of recovery. As they progress, the move to one of the units on the upper floors. The apartments feature flat screen TVs, new modern furniture and an environment meant to promote community. Nutritious meals are prepared by a professional chef and dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Clients can also keep their own snacks and food in the kitchen in their apartment.
Treatment and Staff
Axis offers primary 30, 60 and 90-day options, and accepts most insurance. Clients at Axis receive completely individualized treatment plans based on their situation and recovery goals. Those who require detox can complete that process on-site under medical supervision. The treatment philosophy is strongly built around the 12 steps, but the AA focus doesn’t mean Axis advocates a generic approach. Clients work with their therapists to design a treatment plan that incorporates individual and group therapy using CBT, DBT and relapse prevention, as well as dual diagnosis support if necessary.
Axis Pacific View also offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that entails around nine hours of therapy per week. Sober companion and sober living referrals are available as clients transition out of the primary care phase. Male clients often have the option to transition into the original sober living house in LA.
The clinical staff at Axis Pacific View is on-site seven days a week. They include PhD and Master’s-level therapists, CADCs, LMFTs, as well as medical professionals that supervise the detox process. Rehab techs and consulting holistic practitioners round out the team.
