Treatment and Staff

Sessions are usually Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, but Wednesday can be added if desired.
Clients participate in group therapy four times a week. Group sessions often utilize DBT, a method that combines standard CBT with the mindfulness of a meditative practice. In addition, neurofeedback sessions are performed daily.
Holistic methods like yoga, nutrition, mindfulness and music therapy are used as well as equine-assisted therapy for clients working through trauma, stress, and substance use or eating disorders. Awakenings also offers a spiritual component to treatment with an introduction to the 12-step method. Clients complete the first three steps of the program during treatment, giving them a foundation for future support after the transition into regular life.
The Awakenings team is comprised of therapists, counselors, specialty therapists, psychologists and neurofeedback experts. For clients in need of dual diagnosis support, medication management is available.
