Avenues Recovery Philadelphia Review
Avenues Recovery Center is a network of treatment centers with six locations throughout the US. These programs offer 30 to 90 day tracks that include detox, residential, and outpatient care. Avenues incorporates the 12 steps into treatment and offers dual diagnosis support. The Philadelphia facility offers men and women individualized care in a residential setting that provides several amenities and comforts.
Accommodations and Food
It’s worth noting, male and female clients live in separate facilities, both of which are unique, open and modern. There are three houses in total, two for men and one for women. The men’s housing option in on the same three acre campus, and includes eight bedrooms, three living rooms, an in-ground pool and a hot tub.
The women’s facilities have a total of five bedrooms and three living rooms, align with a wrap around two story deck.
All of the housing is spacious and clean, and steers clear of the clinical feel that an inpatient facility can often give off. The staff encourages clients to socialize with other clients. Consequently, residents can expect frequent outings around town as a group. They get a gym membership and in the summer have access to an outdoor pool.
Clients dine together and enjoy family style meals that a professional chef prepares.
Treatment and Staff
The Philadelphia program is a 90 day track. It includes on-site Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) using Vivitrol, medical care, individual and group therapy, and an immersive 12-step program. During the initial assessment clients receive medical, psychiatric and social evaluations.
During residential care clients have both co-ed and gender specific groups that cover topics like relapse prevention, anger management, and communication. Throughout treatment clients explore their spirituality and have sessions with psychodrama, role play, and other expressive therapies. Evidence-based approaches include CBT and DBT. Medication management is also available.
The Philadelphia facility staff includes a full time physician, psychiatrist, and therapists who are LPC, CADC, CRS, CPS and LCSW. There are also case managers on hand to help out with any family or legal issues clients may need to handle during treatment.
Extras
Clients have plenty of opportunities to go out and do fun sober things with fellow clients that are both recreational and therapeutic. This includes yoga classes and guided meditation.
There is a professionals’ treatment track that is geared towards people who work with the general public. This includes anyone in the medical field, pilots, and lawyers.
Finally, family and couples therapy is readily available.
