Avenues Recovery New Hampshire Outpatient Review
Avenues Recovery Centers is a network of care facilities throughout the US. It offers detox, residential and extensive outpatient treatment services. The New England branch of Avenues offers a 90 day residential program but also has an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and standard, step-down outpatient options. Treatment incorporates group therapy, individual counseling, medication management and dual diagnosis care. However, the cornerstone of programming is 12-step recovery. It’s worth noting, along with outpatient treatment, New Hampshire’s Avenues also offers a sober living facility in conjunction with care.
Treatment and Staff
Outpatient tracks are typical step-down treatments for clients who have gone through the residential program. The IOP is an evening program that runs between three and four hours, three times per week. During this stage clients focus on their personal family and work lives.
The IOP consists mainly of group therapy, along with one individual session per week. This track works on recovery skills, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, life skills, leadership training, and communication skills.
Once clients have reached the point where they can step down to the maintenance level of care, it typically consists of one hour of group or individual therapy, or a combination of both, once per week. During this stage, treatment is very flexible and works around the client’s availability. Clients in the standard OP remain in this level of care for as long as they need it.
Treatment includes various evidence-based approaches. This includes CBT, DBT, trauma-informed protocols, Reality Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Medication management is also accessible.
In addition, the treatment team implements mindfulness and holistic approaches into treatment.
Staff members are Master’s-level therapists who are LICSW, LADC, and SAC.
Extras
The sober living facilities are available to clients who need added structure and support while going through the outpatient programs. These facilities are provided by Sober Living New Hampshire and are clean, spacious and home-like. Those who are living in these facilities receive transportation, if needed, to the off-site treatment facility on their treatment days.

There are comprehensive therapeutic practices that are individualized to accommodate each client’s personal treatment needs. Throughout the outpatient program, clients engage in life skills training.
