Based in Nampa, Idaho, Aura Counseling and Wellness is a small outpatient facility that provides treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders. All Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programs can be customized to fit each client’s needs, with services available for both adults and adolescents.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients go through an intake assessment so that an individualized treatment plan can be developed. While the facility doesn’t offer detox on site, clients can receive referrals if necessary. Because the SUD programs are individualized there is no standard treatment regimen; however, all tracks includes some combination of individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices, such as CBT and EMDR.
Groups address a range of topics including anger management, relapse prevention, coping skills and self-esteem building. Gender-specific groups cover relationships and intimate issues. While 12-step participation is not always required, supplemental self-help meetings are encouraged.
The staff at Aura Counseling and Wellness consists of the owner and clinical director, Amy Kappell, who is a Master’s-level counselor, as well as LCSWs and other support staff.
Extras
In addition to the above, counseling services are available for those struggling with other addictions, such as gambling or eating disorders. Family therapy can also be integrated into outpatient plans or as a stand-alone service.
