Aspire Wellness Center Review
Based out of Sacramento, California, Aspire Wellness Center is an accredited behavioral health organization specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. Programs are open to both men and women, with treatment plans available in outpatient, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) intensities.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, all clients go through an initial intake and assessment to help staff members determine their needs. As the facility is not equipped to treat drug or alcohol addiction, those in need of detox services for substance abuse will need to seek help elsewhere before enrolling. Though each of the plans includes much of the same treatment, the intensity of each varies significantly. Outpatient is the most flexible while IOP is a step up, typically composed of four hours of treatment a day for up to six days a week. The most intensive option is PHP, which meets up to eight hours a day for six days. Programs typically last for two to four months.
Treatment consists of both individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Nutritional counseling, meal planning and psychoeducational sessions are all cornerstones of treatment as well. Additional holistic therapies are also included, namely Qi Gong, stand-up paddle board yoga, art therapy, dance or movement therapy and mindfulness meditation. Interpersonal therapy and family therapy are available too.
IOP typically runs from noon to 4 pm on weekdays with lunch and a snack provided as well as two 15-minute breaks; Saturday runs from 8 to 11:45 am. PHP, on the other hand, goes from 10 am to 7 pm everyday and includes two meals, snacks, breaks and weekly equine therapy. Weekends in PHP run from 10 am to 3:45 pm. Though basic support for clients with depression or anxiety may be available, those with severe co-occurring disorders may need to seek additional help elsewhere.
The staff at Aspire Wellness Center consists of psychologists, LMFTs, RDNs and additional Master’s and Doctorate-level counselors.

Aspire Wellness Center has incredibly flexible meal plans with support for any dietary restrictions. Those in need of more intensive care can also attend one of the organization’s residential treatment programs. Finally, clients who complete primary care can work with staff members to develop stepped down aftercare plans through the Aspire network.
