Aspire Indiana Review

Serving communities in central Indiana, Aspire Indiana provides a comprehensive continuum of care for adults and children. Treating substance abuse, addiction and co-occurring disorders, Aspire provides Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) as well as extended outpatient care. Aspire Indiana has multiple locations in Boone, Hamilton, Madison and Marion Counties.

Treatment and Staff

Substance abuse care begins with a comprehensive evaluation, during which an individualized treatment plan is created. Aspire utilizes evidence-based treatment practices, which include medication assisted treatment to help with alcohol and opiate cravings. These programs are not suitable for clients requiring medical detox, as they are not able to provide the continuous monitoring, but referrals will be provided if necessary. Dual diagnosis support is provided by psychiatrists, with medication management and tailored therapy available. Random drug screenings are performed for clients that must prove physical sobriety.

The IOP meets for three hours, three times a week, and is the highest level of care offered by Aspire Indiana. Clients in IOP participate in group therapy three times a week for three hour sessions. Clients also participate in individual therapy as needed. Both types of sessions are facilitated by LADCs and Master’s-level therapists. All outpatient programs provide relapse prevention and psychoeducation and use CBT techniques, but are not 12-step based.

First Steps is the outpatient treatment program that meets once a week, and is suggested for clients that struggle with substance abuse, but do not require the more intensive level of treatment. The extended outpatient program meets at the Carmel location, and is the medium level of care, offered for clients that need more frequent care. This group meets twice a week for three hour sessions.

An adolescent program for youths aged between 11 and 18 is also available and tailored to address the specific needs of that age group. Clients in this program look at their specific patterns and examine behaviors that contributed to substance abuse. This program is available three times a week outside school hours.

Extras

Aspire offers a SAFE program at the Elwood location, which is for first time offenders, and is a one-time session that provides drug and alcohol education, for prevention purposes. PRIME for Life is an evidence-based treatment program that focuses on challenging beliefs around drug and alcohol consumption, behaviors and habits. It is aimed at clients that may not require ongoing care, but are presenting signs of unhealthy behaviors.

For clients with gambling addiction, Aspire Indiana provides individual therapy sessions with counselors trained in that area.

In Summary

Aspire Indiana provides a range of services catering to substance abusers at every level of the outpatient spectrum. This is useful for many, as they are able to receive preventative treatment before their substance use escalates. Offered on a sliding scale from $25 to $130 a session, Aspire is affordable and available at multiple locations, making it an excellent choice for clients all over Indiana.
