Asheville Recovery Center Outpatient Review
Asheville Recovery Center is a treatment facility in North Carolina. In addition to residential care, it offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Programming is based in the 12 steps and offers holistic treatment approaches within a tight knit community of staff and clients. Both outpatient tracks include group and individual therapy, a series of skills training classes and relapse prevention, all of which are provided by a highly experienced treatment team who have an extensive background working within recovery.
Treatment and Staff
The most intensive of the outpatient tracks at Asheville Recovery Center is the PHP, which is a good fit for clients who are coming out of the residential treatment offered at the same facility, or who are recent graduates of another program. Essentially the PHP picks up where the inpatient left off by providing a full day of treatment that typically lasts from 9 am to 5 pm, five days a week. In addition to having a structured daily schedule of therapy and activities, there is also a fair amount of life skills training integrated including cooking, money management self care and fitness. The IOP is a step-down program that entails around three days a week of treatment and is a bit more flexible in terms of when clients need to attend therapy. This allows for clients to return to work or attend school on a full time basis without having to interfere with their schedules too much.
Both of the outpatient tracks are kept fairly small, around 35 to 45 clients in each, with a high staff-to-client ratio to ensure personal attention. In some cases clients return to their homes to live while attending treatment, however the staff of Asheville Recovery Center is able to connect clientele to local sober living facilities that are highly rated.
A typical week for outpatient clients would include several group and individual sessions that utilize evidence-based methods. There are trauma-informed groups, CBT, and a variety of holistic modalities that encourage mindfulness and balance. There are also regular AA meetings and Rapid Resolution Therapy for clients who have experienced a trauma or have PTSD. Every client has an assessment before programming begins and are provided with an individualized treatment plan.
The clinical staff at Asheville Recovery Center are Master’s-level therapists and specialize in addiction and behavioral health. These are LCAS, CSACs, medical doctors and behavioral health techs.
Extras
Aftercare is an essential element to the success of clients at Asheville Recovery. There are several different options for aftercare that can include weekly group therapy, individual therapy and sober living referrals. There are also regular family counseling sessions provided.
Holistic treatment options during the outpatient programs are acupuncture, chiropractic sessions, therapeutic yoga and meditation practice.
